To start with I
was born at a very early age, I've been told that it was a
joyful time with much crying and jubilation. My parents in
an effort to make my life simpler decided to name me Andy rather
than the more traditional "Andrew". Trying to convince the
rest of the world that is my true and legal name became another
matter. Born and raised in Wyandotte Michigan, I joined
the Army in 1968 and hung around there until 1984. Spending
those years between Privet and Staff Sergeant doing a tour in
Danang Vietnam 1969-1970, 2 tours in
Germany
(Pirmasens & Hanau) , couple months in Korea, couple years in
Hawaii, couple more in San Francisco and then Monterey, with
numerous pit stops here and there. Since the Army I've worked
mostly in Telephone
Communication's and more recently as a Computer Tech. But
there was that unfortunate period with the doughnut shops. ( I
don't know what I was thinking either, just let it go) Lived
mainly in Texas, California, Michigan and finally ended up in
Indiana. I have been married a time or two or...
well, I could explain it, but your head would blow up. The
important thing is this I think I am finally learning from my
mistakes and this one seems to be working out quite well, which
is probably good as I'm getting too old to do all that chasing.
Old age does seem to teach a person to be practical. Anyway if I
had it all to do over again I don't know if I'd have the energy.
It's been fun along the way, good memories, good friends, when
it's all said and done no complaints and no regrets. On
the other hand, that being that I started out as a fairly cute
little kid, (on the left) I suppose it should be not surprise
anyone that I ended a slightly warped and beat up looking. (on
the right) The natural way of things.
I'll just cheat
and use this survey to finish up.
